About Me

Interior Designer

I am a professional interior designer but I haven’t always been.  I spent 17 years as a RN working with all types of patients. Not only would I tend to their physical well being, I also found myself trying to make their space special during their hospital stay. I ensured that their notes and gifts from loved ones were arranged so that they could enjoy them all, while creating a functional space to help them be as independent as possible. I would leave signs of my future career in every room I would come into. I would hear comments like “my table is so much easier to work around now that it is organized” and “I love the way you rearranged the flowers and cards so I can enjoy them”. My nursing career lasted for 17 years, however, I realized that I have been an interior designer my whole life.

I find my interior design career has many similar values that I held in my nursing career, such as; taking care of my patients by listening and supporting them, asking lots of questions and encouraging feedback and problem solving to meet the needs of the people that I was caring for.

Unique Style

As an interior designer, I create a space that is unique to every client. I work with each client to meet their individual style and needs. My design approach has been described as “comfortable elegance”.  I design spaces that are functional yet have lots of style and warmth.  I listen carefully to the needs, wants and budgets of my clients.  With my expertise I help guide them to a tailored plan that is all their own.  Along the way, they are given choices to inspire them and make their vision come true.  The services I provide include full concept design and execution.

Design Community

I am an interior designer that has a deep connection to architecture and antiques. Sourcing antiques for clients is a passion. My studio has a wonderful relationship with vendors and craftspeople. This relationship ensures that you get the best products and service possible.  I am involved in the local Portland design community and continue to learn and grow as design evolves.

I look forward to talking with you and making your design dreams a reality!
