“… the project was perfect”

I have had the pleasure of working with Jennifer on two projects at my home. The first project was an outdoor patio area that was lacking panache. I did not have a clear design concept in mind when I hired Jennifer to help me. At the start of the project, Jennifer walked the area with me, inquired about my preferred color palette and asked about the budget. Once she had those facts, she quickly pulled together 3 different concepts that leveraged my existing furniture. I was amazed that Jennifer could take the limited information I gave her and turn it into a fabulous concept. Once we agreed on the new pieces, she handled the ordering, delivery and installation like a professional. From start to finish the project was perfect.

Jennifer was also instrumental in a redesign of my guest bedroom. Jennifer met with me, toured the room, took measurements and established my budget. She carefully incorporated pieces that I owned and loved and amped up the design with carefully selected linens, furniture and finishing touches. She turned a room that I liked into a room that I love.

I had just moved into a new house and she was able to use my existing furniture and accessories to give my house a comfortable and well appointed feel. Jennifer has the talent and artistic abilities to visualize a beautiful look that I never would have imagined on my own. I was so happy that I did not need to immediately purchase more expensive treatments for my home and could live comfortably with what I already owned.

I brought Jennifer the challenge of updating my living room to transform it into a comfortable room where I can spend the majority of my time. I added to the challenge by not having much of a vision of what I wanted, rather being more clear on what I didn’t want. She was able to work through the design process to help me articulate my style and was so helpful in finding ideas for me to continue to narrow down what I really wanted. Jennifer paid attention to how I reacted to choices and adjusted accordingly. If I said that fabric pattern was too busy, she toned the options for the lamp shade down too. She listened too my desire to create a room that didn’t just fit my style, but also my body (I’m shorter than average). So not only does my living room look soothing and fun to be in, but the couch and chairs are comfortable to sit in for me and even taller folks. Her patience and perseverance created a room that makes me excited to invite folks over to entertain. I loved working with her and gained not just a great new living room, but also a great new friend!

In August 2017, my business, Faster Permits, expanded and moved into it’s new headquarters in Portland, Oregon. I had previously seen Jennifer’s work, and I knew she would be an ideal fit for designing the interior of our office and it’s various spaces. Jennifer’s vision, communication and collaborative style yielded an outcome that is a radical departure from the standard “cube farm” office setting. Our workplace has been transformed into a welcoming, thriving environment where employees are genuinely thrilled to be productive each day, and each and every person who visits our headquarters is enlivened by it’s warmth, layout and practical function.

What surprised me most about the experience: Our clients visit from every corner of the country, and they all remark at how smart our office is. Without question, our new headquarters has yielded new, more highly qualified clients, and has closed contracts we wouldn’t have previously. I am grateful for Jennifer’s insight and creativity, and look forward to working with her on our next project!

” It was incredible how she made my home transform …”

I am a classical pianist and I always need space in which to perform that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to rent. I decided that the best way to do this is to make my own small concert hall in my home…that’s when Jennifer was recommended to me.

When she first came in she was so excited about this project…actually giddy! I could tell that she absolutely loves her job and had confidence to do it!

The weeks after that she started doing her magic. It was incredible how she made my home transform into a concert space! Each week my piano students would come to see the space a little different then the week before. They would try and guess what new thing had changed…it was such a fun game.
